We are recruiting for the following positions starting this summer:

Program Assistant
Position Start Date: September 1, 2025 (with possibility of prior training period*).
The Borromini Institute (TBI), an initiative of Gustolab International, is currently looking for a PROGRAM ASSISTANT to work full time in its office in central Rome. This is a one-year contract intended to start in the Summer of 2025 and subject to renewal in the Summer of 2026.
*Possible paid training period between June 15-July 31 and full-time contract starting Sept. 1, 2025.
The PROGRAM ASSISTANT will support the Director in planning and implementing academic programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with Director to help to plan future programs, including writing proposals and budgets, corresponding and meeting with potential partners and clients
- Overseeing drafting of program plans, program budgets, rosters and calendars
- Working with the Faculty to coordinate syllabi, curricular planning and program activities.
- Correspondsing directly with program representatives from US universities with whom we have partnerships
- Acting as the point person for incoming students during the pre-departure phase (sending all pre-departure group communications; coordinating and participating in Welcome Zoom/individual student meetings; collecting all necessary pre-departure documentation; preparing any necessary immigration/internship documentation; preparing the Google Drive folders and Program Plan with all relevant student materials and documents.)
- Coordinating Program Orientation sessions, moderating discussions by members of the staff team aimed at preparing students for the practicalities and challenges of their study abroad experience
- Occasionally attending conferences and study abroad fairs as a representative of the Borromini Institute
- Contributing to content-generation for website and social media
- Using and updating TBI’s Hubspot CRM regularly

Internship Coordinator
The Borromini Institute (TBI), an initiative of Gustolab International, is currently looking for an INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR to work part time in its office in central Rome. This is a short-term CoCo contract intended to follow the project of summer internships and be completed between May 2 and July 30, 2025 but successful candidates may be asked to continue long term.
The TBI INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR will follow the students enrolled in INT101, introducing and providing feedback on their assignments, interfacing with the placement partners and assisting the students in any needs they have relating to the internships.
The ideal candidate is creative, easy-going and detail-oriented. It is essential that the candidate be a team-player, willing to work on a variety of important tasks when required, even when they may not fall within this job description. As a small company we rely on transparency and candid communications and collaboration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading small group tutorials on marketing, scheduling, reporting, resume-writing, LinkedIn profiles, and public speaking;
- Reading and correcting student assignments such as journal entries and reports;
- Curating final symposia
- Communicating in Italian with placement partners regarding student performance
- Assisting in promotion of the TBI Internship program through photographs, blogposts, social media, etc.
- Accompanying students on occasional visits to other sites and excursions.
Required Qualifications and Education
- Italian mother tongue preferred with good English
- University degree
- Experience in an international education setting
- Flexibility and demonstrated ability to excel in fast-paced environments

Human Rights Advisor
The Borromini Institute (TBI), an initiative of Gustolab International, is currently looking for an HUMAN RIGHTS ADVISOR to work part time in its office in central Rome. This is a short-term CoCo project intended to establish the cluster’s curriculum and direction. It may be followed up with a teaching and ongoing advising role, to be determined upon completion of the project.
The TBI HUMAN RIGHTS ADVISOR will draft syllabi, advise on program plans, help recruit faculty and in general curate the HRL Human Rights Laboratory academic cluster.
The ideal candidate is creative, easy-going and detail-oriented. It is essential that the candidate be a team-player, willing to work on a variety of important tasks when required, even when they may not fall within this job description. As a small company we rely on transparency and candid communications and collaboration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

CURRICULAR INTERNSHIPS
Curricular Internships at the Borromini Institute
The Borromini Institute is a new academic organization which provides educational opportunities for students both in and outside the classroom and support for institutions and faculty-led programs. It was born as an initiative of Gustolab International, a key player on the scene of international education in Italy. Borromini Institute’s core business depends on coordinated efforts of the management team, faculty, and learning facilitators to carry out engaging academic programs. The Borromini Institute is duly committed to sustainable practices and diversity, equity and inclusion.
There are three internship periods with the Borromini Institute available every year. All internships typically last two to three months, depending on the intern’s overall availability, for a total of 150 working hours. As a Curricular Internship, the position is unpaid and we will work with your affiliated academic institution to accredit this professional experience in your academic transcripts.
The Borromini Institute’s 2025 Curricular Internships sessions are as follows:
Session I: 13 January – 30 April 2025

- coordinating collateral program activities and extracurricular excursions for international students in Italy
- establishing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and the larger public

- cooperating in the creation of academic excursions outside of Rome for groups of international students in Italy
- providing support in organizational, administrative, and secretarial activities
- providing support in the preparation of teaching materials
Skills
- excellent communication skills, in both oral and written Italian and English
- strong computer processing skills including experience with web, email, Microsoft office, and Google platforms
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and interact diplomatically and constructively with providers and stakeholders.
