Courses

Enrolling in our programs allows you to choose from a variety of courses. Most students take two core courses and choose as many as 2 electives from our catalog.

CORE
-ITA 101/102 ELEMENTARY ITALIAN LANGUAGE (4 credits)
-OCL 210 SUSTAINABLE ROME (3 credits)

ELECTIVES
-GLI 299 FOOD PRODUCTION: OLIVE OIL, WINE (3 credits)
-HRL 101 SOCIAL JUSTICE IN ITALY (3 credits)
-TMD 101 COMMUNICATING CULTURE (3 credits)
-INT 101 ONSITE ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP (80 hours, 3 credits)

My time in Rome this past summer was eye opening, inspiring and enriching. Every day I learned something new about food, sustainability, media and culture. I learned a lot about myself and the different ways that I take on challenges in the classroom and out in the streets of a busy city. I would recommend this study abroad trip to anyone, no matter what your major is you will find something extremely fascinating about this experience that I would do all over again if I could.

Academic internships are a crucial component of Borromini Institute’s philosophy of experiential learning. BI works with community partners in order to provide students with a complete and rewarding academic experience, not only in the classroom but also within the local community. We care about helping our students understand the real challenges local organizations face and offering them a wide variety of occasions for cultural immersion.
